Once your novel study is complete...
Why not take your class on a trip to Paris?!
Class activity to conclude the novel study:
1. Plan a trip to Paris:
Have students take part in the preparation needed to "travel" to Paris
- "Make your own passports"
- Decorate class in monuments, flags, and Parisian culture
- Plane tickets and seating arrangements
- Assign students to make a slide show of Paris (including famous landmarks in novel)
- Dine like a Parisian; Grape juice (wine) in wine glass, Baguette, and cheese, for example
2. Decorate classroom with Parisian decor (ex. flags and pictures)
- Organize tables and chairs as if airplane (two rows with an aisle in between)
- Have the food and wine ready
3. Welcome students into "France Air"
- Students will enter classroom/ "airplane" and hand passports and plane tickets to the teachers ("flight attendants")
- They will be given their plane tickets, wine, and baguette
- They will find their assigned seats and prepare to "take off"
- A slideshow (that was prepared by students) will be played while in "air"
4. Discuss the novel
- what the students liked, disliked, and the message taken away from the story.
